The young emerging artist Joris Jaccarino was born in Ponte dell’Olio in 1981. He started exploring the photography world when he was only 12 years old, for he was given a Canon FX1 by his grandfather. Since that moment, the artist began a visual experimentation journey through the many forms and technological possibilities that VideoArt could offer him.
He graduated in theoretical philosophy and currently collaborates with the laboratory of “Visual Sociology” of the Department of Political Science of “Università Statale di Milano”. During his career he directed some short films and documentaries, which have been screened at various Italian and foreign film festivals. In 2015 he founded the awards-winning start-up Bepart, which uses augmented reality to favour Art and its diffusion throughout urban spaces.
He tells about him: «I love the streets that are filled with everyday-life issues, I love people as well as I love things and even though I don’t like talking to them, I really love watching their faces and feeling their matter».
He currently lives in Milan where he’s constantly trying to fulfill his dreams by developing his approach to VideoArt.
Here you can find one of his works called “Ascolto il tuo cuore città” – “I do listen to your heart, city”, which was shot in Piazza Gae Aulenti.
