MostraMi is at 79° "Pitti Uomo"
A few days before the opening of "Pitti Uomo" new edition, MostraMi announces its participation with the exhibition of two young photographers' artworks.
Milan, December 20, 2010. MostraMi moves to Florence and specifically to the Fortezza da Basso where the new edition of Pitti Uomo will be held. Inside the stand set up by Henry Cotton's, visitors will be able to view the artworks of two young photographers: Francesco Vieri and Alex Bianco.
Each of the two artists will exhibit 4 artworks in black and white entirely dedicated to New York and its architecture.
Toscano e fotografo professionista il primo, siciliano e amatore il secondo: due visioni, stili e caratteri diversi per rappresentare e interpretare la Grande Mela.
Visitors of the stand will be able to choose the works exhibited and with their purchase they will be able to support the social purpose of MostraMi. The 50% of the remuneration collected by Gruppo '97 will be donated to charity through the Onlus "Insieme per i Bambini" and "CasAmica Onlus".
The charity project is ambitious: the sum of money raised will be used for the construction of accommodations dedicated to the reception of children who come to Milan to obtain medical treatment that is impossible to have elsewhere and carried out in day hospital. The address of the structure is Via S. Achilleo n. 4 in Milan.
Francesco Vieri was born in Prato, Tuscany, in 1971. After working in graphics, he began experimenting with photographic techniques and advertising print media, combining the image with the most suitable materials.
Soon he specialized in still life, immortalizing toys depicting television characters from the 1970s cartoons, with film-like shots on outdoor settings without using photomontages.
He has worked for leading artists in the painting field and in the music industry such as Andrea Martinelli and Ares Tavolazzi.
In October 2010, four of his artworks were chosen to participate in a charity auction that took place at Gotham Hall in New York. That is an event organized by Sage, a New York upper class charity that has been protecting minorities for years. Vieri is the only emerging artist to participate, among many established photographers including: Herb Ritts, Sam Shaw, Mario Testino and Bruce Weber.
Alex Bianco, thirty years old, does not like to talk about himself but prefers to communicate through his shots. His city is the whole world. A thousand jobs and a thousand different interests make him able to travel for at least half of the year. He considers photography a passion and never a profession, "it stops the moment, the experience, the emotions and fix the memories. I could live again and again time through photos. Retrace past journeys and review places, faces, details, people and characters that otherwise would go into oblivion. This is photography for me, a passion but also a precious ally."
MostraMi is a new non-profit artistic-cultural project created to give online and offline visibility to emerging artists and young talents in the painting, sculpture and photography fields. All this through a web platform (www.mostra-mi.it) to which all young artists can subscribe to have maximum visibility, and to participate in a series of promotional exhibitions / events with the aim of getting more local visibility, so that artists establish relationships with galleries and patrons of the territory. MostraMi is a Gruppo97cantieri sonori and of M.O.STRA's project.
