Salvo’s artistic research is focused on the exploration of human beings, especially the ones related to the distressing emotions of people. The characters of his paints are powerful and mysterious. The spectators are put in the condition to be in an out of focus reality, a mirror in which everyone can find and explore own inner emotions.
In Salvo’s portraits everything is functional to create a pathway to a different level of reality. The challenge of is work is to express the essence of humans going beyond the ordinary notions of space and time. Using his personal memories he would like to drive the observer in an “enfolded” order in which everyone can become a witness of the collective and sacred nature of life.
La ricerca artistica di Salvo è focalizzata sull’esplorazione degli esseri umani, in particolare sulle emozioni spiacevoli che essi provano. I personaggi dei suoi dipinti sono potenti e misteriosi e gli spettatori sono messi in condizione di essere al di fuori dalla realtà, come davanti ad uno specchio in cui ognuno può trovare ed esplorare le proprie emozioni interiori. Nei ritratti di Salvo tutto è funzionale a creare un percorso per un diverso livello di realtà, la sfida del suo lavoro è quello di esprimere l’essenza degli esseri umani che si spinge oltre le nozioni ordinarie di spazio e tempo. Usando i suoi ricordi personali, l’artista vorrebbe guidare l’osservatore in un ordine in cui ognuno può diventare testimone della natura collettiva e sacro della vita.
