The Italian artist and writer Lady Kla (Claudia Braghetto) was born in Carate Brianza in 1986. Since she was young, she was started to get passionate about art by admiring the works of the greatest, with the preference of one of the most prominent members of pop art Roy Lichtenstein.

L’artista e writer italiana Lady Kla (Claudia Braghetto) nasce a Carate Brianza nel 1986. Fin da piccola si appassiona all’arte ammirando le opere dei piu grandi, con la preferenza di uno dei piu importanti esponenti della pop art Roy Lichtenstein.

She then joined the Art Institute of Monza and in 2000 she started her career in writing. She represents the real example of a female graffiti artist: a prominent figure in a typically male culture, she has participated in numerous national conventions, including one of the most important “Meeting of Styles” in Veneto in 2009. In 2007 she founded with three other artists the “Funky Girls” crew, which was soon considered the first group of female writers in the Italian landscape, and subsequently conquered the international scene. In 2009 she joined in the first documentary film “Girl Power Movies” that has seen the collaboration of the American photojournalist Marta Cooper and that sees as main characters all women of the graffiti landscape.

From 2013 until today, after a research in the evolution of letters, she has become a specialist in “block letters” style: from the precise lines she creates wavy lines, leaving her imprint and inventing a new style that she calls “Frisè Style“. Thanks to this style she is able to better express her rebellion towards the absolute precision, giving a strong visual impact that has become unmistakable in the urban scenery. In 2015 she started collaborating with some contemporary art galleries, including Luca Sforzini Arte in Italy, Luxgraph Limited in Malta and Place de l’Art in France.

In May 2017 she participated in the first event devoted to the classical and contemporary art “Malta Art Fair” in aid to the research of ALS, inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Malta. The event was sponsored by Malta Arts Council as part of Malta’s EU Presidency. She has brought her pop / street art works in a scenario where this type of art was not yet fully known and appreciated, making it equally successful.Her canvases are never trivial or part of a “series”, but on the contrary they are unique. By remaining faithful to her writer’s origins, Lady Kla reinterprets the style she has used in the urban scene on canvas, experimenting with different techniques, adding sometimes also icons or famous cartoon characters.

In seguito, si iscrive all’istituto d’arte di Monza e nel 2000 inizia il suo percorso nell’ ambito del writing. E’ il vero e proprio esempio di graffitista al femminile: esponente di spicco di una cultura tipicamente maschile, partecipa a numerose convention nazionali, tra cui una delle piu importanti “Meeting of Stile” in Veneto nel 2009.
E’ fondatrice nel 2007 insieme ad altre tre artiste della crew artistica “Funky Girls” che, nel giro di breve tempo, viene subito considerata il primo gruppo di writers tutto al femminile nel panorama italiano, conquistando in seguito anche la scena internazionale.
Nel 2009 partecipa al primo film documentario “Girl Power Movies” che vede la collaborazione della fotoreporter americana Marta Cooper e che ha come protagoniste tutte donne graffitiste anche di fama mondiale.

Dal 2013 ad oggi, dopo un’approfondita ricerca nell’evoluzione delle lettere, diventa specialista nello stile “stampatello”: dalle linee precise ribalta le stesse creando linee ondulate, lasciando cosi la sua impronta, inventando un nuovo stile da lei chiamato “Frisè Stile” dove riesce ad esprimere al meglio la sua ribellione verso la precisione assoluta, donando un forte impatto visivo divenuto inconfondibile nello scenario urbano.
Nel 2015 inizia a collaborare con alcune gallerie d’arte contemporanea, tra cui Luca Sforzini Arte in Italia, Luxgraph Limited in Europa con base a Malta, Place de l’Art in Francia.

Nel Maggio 2017 partecipa al primo evento dedicato all’arte classica e contemporanea “Malta Art Fair” in aiuto contro la SLA, inaugurata dal primo ministro Maltese. L’evento è patrocinato dal Malta Arts Council facendo parte del Malta UE presidenza.
Porta le sue opere di pop/street art in uno scenario dove ancora questo tipo di arte non era del tutto conosciuta e apprezzata, facendo altrettanto successo.
Le sue tele non risultano mai banali o come succede spesso di “serie”, ma al contrario esse sono uniche. Rimanendo fedele alle origini da writer, Lady Kla reinterpreta lo stile da lei usato nella scena urbana su tela, aggiungendo alcune volte icone o personaggi famosi dei fumetti e sperimentando sempre diverse tecniche artistiche.
