We have the great pleasure to promote a wonderful initiative that takes place in Milan, starting tomorrow.
On the occasion of the exhibition Milano for Syria, we interviewed the curator in our usual format of flash interview!
Who are you?
Savi Arbola, president of the Association “Ponte degli Artisti e Oltre”. “Ponte degli Artisti e Oltre” is an association that has been working since a year with its starting point at the iron bridge that connects the station P.ta Genova to Via Tortona, area 6 of Milan.
What’s your role in the world of art?
As President and member of the association “Ponte”, I promote the work of independent artists to create cultural opportunities that diverge from the usual distribution and commercial channels. All the initiatives are supported and sponsored by the Council of the Municipal area.

Make big things, affecting things. You must be pointed out creating something truly unique.
What are you dealing of at the moment? Is there any project that you want to talk about? The next exhibition?
We are looking for a “great” Space where to host national and international artists to create workshops and thematic exhibitions.
Presently we are proud participating in the project Milano for Syria, trying to give a hope to the children of the refugee camps, particularly for the Atma camp. My dear friend Nino Fezza, cameraman war, representative of Auxilia Onlus, has given us this great opportunity to convey a message of peace where art unites and does not divide.

“Milan for Syria” will be staged starting from tomorrow, it’s a charity event organized to give a hope and a future to children affected by war in Syria. The presentation will take place on January 10th, 2014 at Spazio Seicentro (via Savona) and will coincide with the opening of the exhibition (until January18th).
Pictures and video reports produced by the RAI cameraman Sebastian Nino Fezza, (creator and promoter of the project) are collected in 17 war missions. Guests will be introduced to the formative journey and to the works of the artists, they will be led towards the deeper understanding not only of the socio-political situation, but also of the suffering…Of lost hopes as broken dreams. Denied childhoods, raped in a war that has already done 100,000 victims.
There will be three stages in the guided tour of the exhibition-event, each one characterized by a scenario that brings back to mind and eyes the horrors of the war.
All of the works designed for the project may be purchased at a symbolic price – determined by the organization – in order to give everyone the opportunity to participate in the donation; the works will also be included in an online catalogue. Those that remain unsold will be displayed in exhibitions and events planned in several Italian cities.

Chi sei?
Savi Arbola, presidente dell’Associazione “Ponte degli Artisti ed Oltre”, che opera da un anno con il suo punto di partenza dal ponte di ferro che unisce la stazione di Pta Genova alla via Tortona, nella Zona 6 di Milano.

Nel mondo dell’arte, quale ruolo svolgi?
Come Presidente e socio del “Ponte”, promuovo l’attività di artisti indipendenti per creare delle opportunità culturali, che si discostino dai soliti canali distributivi e commerciali. Iniziative tutte supportate e patrocinate dal Consiglio di zona Comunale.

L’arte contemporanea italiana in tre parole:
Innovazione, creatività, sana follia

Un consiglio spassionato ad un giovane artista: quale l’ingrediente fondamentale?
Fai cose grandi, che si vedano. Ti devi far notare creando qualcosa di unicamente tuo.

Di cosa ti stai occupando oggi? C’è qualche progetto di cui ci vuoi parlare? Una vostra prossima mostra?
Stiamo cercando uno Spazio “grande” dove ospitare artisti nazionali e internazionali per creare dei laboratori e delle mostre tematiche.
Attualmente siamo orgogliosi di partecipare al progetto Milano for Syria, dando il nostro contributo per cercare di dare una speranza ai bimbi dei campi profughi, in particolare per il campo di Atma. Il caro amico Nino Fezza, cineoperatore di guerra, rappresentante di Auxilia Onlus, ci ha dato questa grande opportunità di trasmettere un messaggio di pace dove l’arte unisce e non divide.


Da domani poi sarà in scena “Milano for Syria”,un evento benefico organizzato per dare una speranza e un futuro ai bambini coinvolti nella guerra in Syria; la presentazione si terrà il 10 gennaio 2014 allo Spazio Seicentro di via Savona, e coinciderà con l’inaugurazione di una mostra, visitabile fino al 18 gennaio.
Fotografie e video reportage realizzati dal cineoperatore RAI Sebastiano Nino Fezza (ideatore e promotore del progetto) raccolte in 17 missioni di guerra, introdurranno gli ospiti nel percorso informativo e all’incontro con le opere degli artisti, guidando lo spettatore verso la più profonda comprensione non solo della situazione socio-politica, ma anche della sofferenza. Delle speranze perdute come dei sogni infranti. Infanzie negate, violentate in una guerra che ha già fatto 100000 vittime.
Il percorso di visita della mostra-evento sarà composto di tre tappe, caratterizzate ognuna da uno scenario che riporta alla mente e agli occhi gli orrori della guerra.

Tutte le opere destinate al progetto potranno essere acquistate ad un prezzo simbolico – stabilito dall’organizzazione – per dare la possibilità a tutti di partecipare alle donazioni; saranno inoltre inserite in un catalogo online. Quelle che resteranno invendute saranno successivamente esposte in eventi e mostre previsti in varie città italiane.
